This year, it will be held January 13-17, 2023. Events planned for the week include a wonderful welcome reception, a mental health forum, a community ecumenical service, a drum-major award, a breakfast, and an economic development summit. The week's most popular event is always the parade, which honors Martin Luther King Jr. The community adores the parade and its wholesome message. It is a reminder to all of how far the civil rights movement has come- and of how much progress is left to be made.  ![271946042_1884797375064104_7802900860291912631_n](https://www.grandstrand.me/hs-fs/hubfs/271946042_1884797375064104_7802900860291912631_n.jpg?width=2048&height=1365&name=271946042_1884797375064104_7802900860291912631_n.jpg) Photo from [https://www.facebook.com/MLKMyrtleBeach/photos](https://www.facebook.com/MLKMyrtleBeach/photos)  This year, the Martin Luther King Jr. annual parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 14th, 2022. The parade will begin on Ocean Blvd. at 15th Ave. N. and will travel to 8th Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Lots of groups sign up to participate, so the spectacle will be grand!  If you're going to be in Myrtle Beach during MLK Day, then be sure to check out some of the Grand Strand Freedom Week events- or at the very least, check out the parade.    ### POPULAR POSTS ### Recent Posts ### Posts by Topic - [Activities (114)](https://www.grandstrand.me/tag/activities) - [Amusement (109)](https://www.grandstrand.me/tag/amusement) - [Events (94)](https://www.grandstrand.me/tag/events) - [Family (66)](https://www.grandstrand.me/tag/family) - [Shopping and Dining (66)](https://www.grandstrand.me/tag/shopping-and-dining) ![grand-strand-footer](https://www.grandstrand.me/hs-fs/hubfs/grand-strand-footer.jpg?width=1920&name=grand-strand-footer.jpg "grand-strand-footer") - [**](https://www.facebook.com/HiltonHead.me/) Contact Us [800-678-9999](callto:800-678-9999)   SIGN UP FOR UPDATES Copyright © 2018 Resortia LLC [Privacy Policy](https://www.hiltonhead.me/privacy)
